Strong Mother-Women's Ministry

We are all familiar with the old adage spoken by some mothers, when disciplining their children by spanking them, “this will hurt me more than it will hurt you!” Do you know why some mothers say this? A strong mother loves unconditionally! Her role is to love, care, teach, train, and discipline her children.


When she has done her best and her teachings are ignored, it is believed that a spanking may bring about a change for the better. Of course, some mothers do not believe in spanking. And that’s alright! Some children do not need that level of discipline. If you are a mother who believes in spanking, I believe that the adage could be true. A child’s sting is temporary. However, if you are a mother who is thinking of your child’s future, you’re probably thinking about the pain that you and your child may experience because of the child’s unwillingness to accept your teaching and training. Proverbs 29:15 says “The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringth his mother to incredible shame.”

There isn’t a manual of instruction for mothers on how to raise children. However, it takes patience, it takes empathy, it takes forgiveness, but most of all it takes unconditional love to be a strong mother.
